Kitchen & Dining Room

Adjacent to the great room in the previous post is this open concept kitchen and dining area. The same cream colored paint over the wood paneling makes this side of the room feel updated and spacious and shows off the gorgeous vaulted and beamed ceilings. Additional updates included new granite counter tops and light fixtures. Counter tops have been cleared of clutter to give a cleaner, more spacious appearance. The wood cabinets were cleaned and polished, and the back plates were removed to give the cabinet hardware a fresh look. Moving the table perpendicular to the wall opens up the traffic flow and adds to the feeling of spaciousness. Silk greenery above the island cabinet helps to highlight that unique feature and draw the eye upward to the gorgeous vaulted and beamed wood ceiling.
Living and Dining Room – Before & After Home Staging
/in Dining Room, Home Staging, Interior ReDesign, Living Room, Organizing / De-Clutter, Room Makeover, Space Planning /by debraThe goal with this combination living and dining room is to make the areas feel more spacious and improve the flow from room to room. By removing the entertainment stand and positioning the shelf unit underneath the wall-mounted TV, the space already seems bigger. Accessories were kept to a minimum, and the drapery panels were re-hemmed to reach the floor.
This room was not expensive to redecorate either. A lot of the new furniture was purchased at a bargain price from the Home Depot website. Shopping online for furniture is often a fantastic way to save money, especially when you can find a promo code. Plus, Home Depot often run sales and other exclusive discounts so you can almost always secure yourself a bargain.
I actually buy a lot of things from Home Depot. Their products are always affordable, hard-wearing, and stylish. Whether you are looking for soft furnishings like throws, pillows, and rugs, or accent pieces like vases, sculptures, or decorative trays, there really is something for absolutely everyone. Whenever I take a look at their newest collections online, I always spot a few new things that manage to catch my eye.
What is your favorite thing about this redecorating project? For me, it would have to be the new lamp that I found on the Home Depot website. Not only was it incredibly affordable, but it totally brightens up the room. Get in touch and let me know your thoughts. I cannot wait to hear from you very soon.
Kitchen Staged To Sell
/in Dining Room, Home Staging, Interior ReDesign, Organizing / De-Clutter, Room Makeover /by debraGranite countertops, stainless appliances, tile backsplash and an abundance of cabinets are all key selling features of this kitchen, but they were hard to notice due to too much distracting décor. Reducing the countertop clutter and replacing all but a few of the décor items on top of the cabinets with silk greenery helps the kitchen’s best attributes to stand out. Two barstools were also removed to open up the space around the island and allow foot traffic to flow through.
Kitchen Nook – Before / After
/in Color Consultation, Dining Room, Home Staging, Interior ReDesign, Room Makeover /by debraThis kitchen nook was transformed into a cozy seating area with a warm paint color, a new light fixture, window valance, furnishings and artwork. After the baseboard trim was finished off, a portable dishwasher was moved to allow space for seating. Accessories were place on the built-in shelves to draw attention to that unique feature.
Living Room Before / After

The long, narrow living room in this South Minneapolis bungalow was divided to create separate living and dining areas, making the space more functional. Updated furnishings, artwork and accessories appeal to more potential buyers. Mis-matched window coverings were replaced with matching scarves to frame and highlight the large windows. A fresh coat of neutral-colored paint helped to hide dingy walls and brought out the architectural details in the woodwork.
HOMEOWNER TESTIMONIAL:
“Debra gave us great quality at a reasonable price. She made our hum-drum, small house look modern and desirable. Everyone who came through said how great it looked, whether they were interested in buying the home or not.
Debra’s eye for style and hard work helped us to secure two offers in only 4 days on the market – even during these tough economic times. I would recommend Amazing Spaces to anyone interested in making their home outshine the rest.”

Dining Room
/2 Comments/in Dining Room, Home Staging, Interior ReDesign, Room Makeover /by debraBEFORE: This dining room appears small and despite the vaulted ceilings. The furniture and light fixture give it a dated appearance.
AFTER: Removing a leaf from the dining room table adds needed space to the room. A large art print on the wall takes attention away from the outdated light fixture and adds a touch of color bringing out the warm tones in the woodwork. A solid wood dining table is universally flattering to any decor. A green fern placed in the corner of the adjacent kitchen draws your eye into that space and highlights the unique opening connecting the two rooms.

BEFORE: Despite the white walls, this combination living and dining room seems dark and has no flow through the space. Country-style furnishings make it feel old and outdated, and the view is blocked by curtains. Many people are dissatisfied with the appearance of their homes’ interiors so, if you feel this way too, you’re not alone – besides, there’s plenty that can be done to improve things, especially if you already have some ideas to direct how you want things to look. If you don’t, you can find plenty of inspiration on sites like Collov to get you started with making plans for your home.
Honestly, I am so happy with how this dining room makeover turned out. In my opinion though, I think the lighting is probably the most noticeable change. Whereas before the space looked tired and unwelcoming, the new light that has been installed has made a big change. Ultimately, this just goes to show how important choosing the best possible lighting for your home can be.
That being said, it is undeniable that there are so many amazing lighting options out there nowadays that making the right choice can seem like a daunting task. Nonetheless, if you are thinking about upgrading the lighting in your home, reaching out to an electrician can help you to determine the best possible lighting choices for your space. Accordingly, if you are looking for more information about the advantages of reaching out to an electrician to take care of installing the lighting in your home, you can get it from here.
